Blake is on a mission from his alpha--to track down a werewolf whose parents dragged her into the human world years ago, one who may be in danger. He expects the lead to go nowhere, given how few wolves live among humans, but he discovers something rare indeed, caged in a basement: a beautiful, curvy woman gripped by the fever, ready to mate.

Ashley Todd has never fit in. She's always been too much--too big, too demanding, too aware of the wolf hiding beneath her skin. She's been locked away for months—been alone for a lifetime—and in walks Blake to save her from her prison. Her rescuer is hard, intense—a dominant wolf whose bossy attitude makes her growl...and yearn to submit.

Soothing Ashley’s mating fever is Blake’s responsibility--and his pleasure. Their passion is explosive, undeniable. But what started out as a job for Blake quickly becomes something more, and the toughest part of his mission looms: taking Ashley back to his pack so she can choose her permanent mate from amongst his brethren.

Ashley is drawn to dominant Blake, but meeting the rest of the pack reignites her desire. She is overwhelmed by her new life and all it entails, but embracing her inner wolf means embracing the truth: if she doesn’t explore her attraction to the other members of the pack, she’ll never find her forever mate .

Protecting Their Mate was originally published as an eight part serial under the penname Mia Thorne. It has been repackaged, but the story remains the same.

Fry here! Release day for this bad boy! I’m happy to say that I’m finally back reading and reviewing. Did you miss me?

I’m happy to say that this romance novel doesn’t skimp and delivers everything it says on the tin. There’s werewolf man pain, alpha male feels, a protagonist that’s on the larger side of the dress size spectrum, and TONS of sex. Whew. Over half of this 71 pages are sex.

Being a serial, it suffers a bit from pacing, and a lot of the deeper plot elements are missing in order to make way for the more titillating aspects. I hope that they’ll expand more upon some of the mysteries in either later parts of this set of serials or the promised next books in the series, but that’s me getting too serious about it. This book was a whole lot of fun and I’m definitely going to read more.

So if you want a fun paranormal romance that’s just brimming to the edge with sexy scenes, you should totally pick this one up. Give your brain a flirty, fun, sensual snack.

HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this third volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new, heart-wrenching, and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Tristan Pierce left the family business to carve out a life of his own, but never forgot his passionate affair with the much younger, inexperienced Sydney Greene, or the hurtful breakup that tore him apart. When he’s forced to return home and face his past, will he be able to carve out a future, or will lies ruin his second chance at love?

Sydney Greene loved Tristan her entire life but when he left, he took not only her heart, but her trust along with him. Now that they’re together again, it’s time they both face the biggest secret of all...

I must admit I really like second chance romance stories. I know from experience that sometimes making a relationship work really is all about timing.  Why you might ask do I know about how a second chance at love can make all the difference?  Because, my parent’s love story was a second chance at love and they are still together to this day.  When I read the synopsis of All or Nothing at All I knew it was a story that I needed to read.

supernatural excited yes dean winchester jensen ackles GIF

All or Nothing at All was a quick read that I devoured in days.  For the most part I really did like the story. I liked how this book is part of a series but it is really a stand alone.  You can read the books out of order.  I know because I did.  The story starts in present day with flash backs to the past.  A past that explains how Tristan and Sydney grew up together.  Sydney always had a crush on Tristan.  One day, he finally notices that she is a woman.  They just couldn’t get the timing right the first time. Tristan’s mom passed away and he was hurting.   He was fighting with his family all the time. He knew he had to leave.  Sydney knew she couldn’t go with him because she was pregnant and not looking to trap anyone into a relationship.  Sometimes people just have to leave and grow on their own.  Sometimes those growing pains can do irreparable damage.  Sometimes, like in Sydney and Tristan’s case, the love never goes away and that is when timing comes into play.

Almost seven years have gone by and now they are both in place to give the relationship a second chance. I really liked this story at this point.  It was just the typical I am going to win you back story because I never stopped loving you story. I was okay with this because that is what I signed up for.  I was on board with this second chance at romance.  The chemistry between Sydney and Tristan was on fire.  Then something happens and that is when the story kind of loses points.  I was like what the what.

tv supernatural doctor who x-files crowley GIF

Sydney has to tell Tristan that the little girl she is raising is not her ex-husband’s kid but his. Of course, this truth causes a rip in their new budding love affair. Instead of asking for joint custody he demands she marry him or he will fight her tooth and nail for sole custody. So, they get married in this arrangement for the sake of the kid. All I can think is yeah this going to work out so well. I will never understand why people think this stuff works.  Getting married for the sake of the children never works.  All it does is end with everyone’s heart in tatters.  I was so mad at Tristan at this point in the story.  I really did not like him or Sydney.   I think what this couple really needed was couple counseling. There is nothing wrong with talking to a professional when someone in the relationship has kept a secret so big it is too painful and hard to let go. The getting married part was so stupid.

In the end, I guess all’s well that ends well so to speak. I did like this story, especially in the first half.  I am all for a single mom going after what she wants.  I just think the story could have done without the “arranged” marriage.  I don’t think threatening someone and basically forcing them do something is romantic.  It would take a lot for me to forgive a partner for pulling that revenge crap on me.  I don’t care how good the sexy fun times are either.  This was not my relationship.  I think that it was probably something Sydney and Tristan had to go through to prove that they could get through anything.  I think the highlight of the book was their daughter.  I freaking loved Becca she was so fun and adorable

Damien fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.

Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.

And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.

I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.

He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.

Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.

Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.

One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…

(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

“Why wouldn’t you talk about your work in the restaurant?” I set my purse on the floor by my feet and shifted to face him. “I’ve never seen anyone get out of a dinner so fast.”

A small smile tugged the edge of his lips up. “Just like I said in there, some things shouldn’t be discussed in public.”

“Like politics and religion.”

“You have a very smart mouth.” He glanced down at said smart mouth. “Do you ever turn it off?”

“Never,” I reassured him. “Now, we’re no longer in public, so tell me about what you do.”

He rested an arm along the back of the seats. His fingertips landed just inches from my hair, and I gave a cursory glance at their closeness.

Shivers tickled their way down my spine as he stared at me. He was entirely still except for the way his eyes flicked left and right repeatedly. It felt an awful lot like he was taking me in, committing me to memory for some strange reason.

“A lot of people don’t like me. Pissing people off is part of business, and I’ve done that a lot, so I try to keep my work private. It’s that simple, sweetheart.”

“I get it. But now, it is private.” I wasn’t going to let this drop. I’d quit reading before I did that. “I’ve told you a lot about my bar tonight, so now tell me something.”

“You have the innate ability to make me feel like I’m back in high school and writing an essay about being reasonable.”

“If you’d done that, you might know how to be reasonable.” I paused when he laughed. It was low blow time again. “Look, Mr. Fox—”

“Damien.”

“You don’t have to tell me anything about your business and what you do, but given that you’re failing embarrassingly in your attempt to buy my business, it’s probably in your best interests to start talking.”

He leaned forward and took my hair between his finger and thumb. Slowly, he twirled the strands around his finger, each twist lightly tugging against my scalp. “You should have been a cop. You’re very persuasive.”

“In that case, you could probably learn a thing or two from me. Your own skills are lacking.”

“I don’t know.” He dropped his voice to a low murmur. “I think, if I tried hard enough, I could persuade you into a few things.”

I raised my eyebrows. We’d moved on from talking about business. Once again, the Master of Deflection was doing what he’d been doing for most of our evening together.

“I still haven’t forgiven you for your antics yesterday, so I wouldn’t even try it.” I tapped his hand so he released his hold on my hair. It tumbled away from his finger so I could smooth the strands back down and gave him a pointed look.

“Forgiven me, or yourself?” His eyes glinted knowingly. Almost self-assuredly.

Hell, there was no almost about it. He knew exactly how I’d felt when he’d left me. He knew exactly what he’d done to me, and I did, too. Denying that I was annoyed at myself because I could still remember how it’d felt when he’d taken my chin in his hand was pointless.

“Both,” I answered, sitting up a little straighter. “That doesn’t invite you to exercise poor judgment and make another attempt to mix business with pleasure?”

“Attempt? Sweetheart, if I’d attempted to do that, there would have been a lot less business and a lot more pleasure before I’d left you.”

“You think I’d give in to you so easily?”

At those words, Damien slid smoothly across the leather seats. His arm, still resting along the back of them, hung down behind me, his thumb just brushing against my back. The rest of his body was mere inches from mine, and I bit the inside of my lip as he trailed his fingertips up my bare arm. My eyes followed his feather-light touch while his stayed fixated on my face.

He coasted his fingers over my shoulder where he touched them to my jaw. Lightly, he tilted my face around and up until I had no choice but to look him in the eyes again—to look right there where I could see exactly how much he wanted me.

Dark.

Hot.

Full of temptation.

Heavy and intense, his eyes screamed of raw lust and selfish need.

“I don’t think you’d give in at all,” he whispered. “I think your body would do that for you, and you’d be helpless to it.”

“You think a lot of yourself, don’t you?” I said quietly. I touched my finger to his belt, then ran it up the length of his torso, ghosting it over the solid packs of muscle that made up his body until I flicked the starchy collar of his shirt. “You think you can do this and I’ll give in to what is essentially a biological reaction? I’m stronger than you take me for, you know.”

He curled his fingers around my chin and dipped his face to mine. “She says with a racing heart.”

I pressed one finger against his mouth and ran another along his strong thigh…right up to where his hard cock was straining against the soft material of his pants. “Don’t you hate it when your attraction to someone is so obvious?”

His jaw clenched. “If you have any sense at all inside that gorgeous head of yours, you’ll move your hand.”

A sizzling new series about three friends looking for love-and the sexy SEALs who are ready to fulfill their craziest fantasies.

He's a man on a mission.
Navy SEAL Trent Lawson isn't a man to back down from a challenge. Ever since he opened his eyes in that army hospital to learn the men from his unit were gone, Trent has been determined to live life in their honor. Even if that means facing his most terrifying mission yet . . . dating.

She's done playing games.
Lauren Hayes has standards. In fact, she's got an entire list of them. There's only ever been one man to come close to making the cut-Trent Lawson. Except her best friend's too-sexy-for-his-own-good brother is strictly off-limits.

When Trent and Lauren find themselves matched up by a dating service, the chemistry between them is nothing short of explosive. They both know getting involved is a huge mistake, but life is too short to walk away from something this good.

A Seal’s Courage is a story about a wounded ex-Navy Seal finding the courage to open his heart and love again. Trent is so scared to love again because his ex-wife couldn’t deal with the man he had become after he came home from war. Tragedy changes a person. I could only imagine what kind of mental and physical changes can occur after a tragedy in a war zone. There are the kind of scars that you can see and the kind of scars you can’t see. Sometimes the scars a person can’t see are the ones that never truly heal or leave the most lasting effects. I would think it would be hard for somebody with the kind of unseen scars war can leave to get back to the person they were before. This is why I liked Lauren because knew Trent before he left for war. Because, he is her best friend’s older brother. She also knows the man he is now. Deep down she knows he is the same man as was before. It is easy for Trent to get lost to in the memories. Sometimes he doesn’t sleep at night because the nightmares won’t leave him alone. The man he is now requires just a little extra patience.

Lauren is a woman who sometimes doesn’t sleep because the bone deep loneliness keeps her awake at night. Lauren knows what is like have tragedy strike. She lost her mother when she was young. The woman who took in and raised her was an older woman and has since passed. Lauren has friends but she wants a family of her own. Deep down she doesn’t want to settle. This is what, I liked about Lauren it was her patience to wait for the type of man she deserved. I know how easy it is settle for Mr. Right Now. I also liked that Lauren had backbone to go after what she wants. So, Lauren and Travis strike a deal, one month of seeing each and then they call it quits. I don’t have to tell you what happens from here because if you have read a romance then you already know. I will say liked their connection to each other. Since, they already had all this back history this was one time when I was glad things sped right along. Things sped right along into sexyville and it was HOT.

kpop hot k-pop apink a pink GIF

I found it refreshing that there was none of that we have to hide because the sibling won’t understand crap. My favorite scene was when Travis removes his shirt for the first time. He is nervous how Lauren will react when she sees his scrap metal scars and burn scars that cover his torso for the first time. I thought that scene was endearing because men especially ex-military men have these expectations to be tough all the time. It was nice to see the man in this story show vulnerability especially about his body. I think sometimes it easy to forget as women, that men can also be insecure about their bodies.

In the end, I did like A Seal’s Courage. It was a quick simple romance about two people finding the love and acceptance they deserve. Sometimes risking your heart takes more courage than facing down an army of unknown enemies.

The second book in a laugh-out-loud new contemporary romance series from Alison Bliss!

Big girls don't cry. They go after what they want.

Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads-with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.

Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book-by making each red-hot deed a reality.

No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.

On the Plus Side is a sweet, quick, fast paced romance. I read it one sitting and really enjoyed it. Therefore, I think it deserves a short and sweet review. After finishing On the Plus Side, I know I am becoming a fan of Alison Bliss’ A Perfect Fit Series. These books are about sexy plus size women finding love. I really enjoyed this book, in particular, because it starred Valarie who is a confident curvy woman. It is so refreshing to read a story staring heroine of size and not have her worry about her weight all throughout the story. Valarie knows she has more curves than some women. She also exercises and eats what she wants. She is proud of her curves. She knows how to dress her curves. She knows how to use her curves to get the men she wants.

Sadly, the man she wants is Logan her brother’s best friend and now her boss. What is the problem for why she can’t be with Logan? Her brother. I have to say this trope does sometimes get on my nerves. I am come on people you are both consenting adults. People up and just be together already. Yes, my only complaint about this book was all the sneaking around. What does sneaking around lead to? Hurt feelings and miscommunication. I feel like this is something that always happens in these I am in love my sibling/my parent’s best friend stories. Sometimes it is cute but most of the time it just annoying. Logan and Valerie were no exception because sometimes I wanted to smack their heads together.

 smack GIF

I did like their chemistry. I liked that Logan never sees a woman of size. In his eyes Valerie is and always will be the sexy woman who holds his heart. This story was very cute, very sexy, and very fun. It is story about going after what you want. It is a story about not letting anyone stand in your way even yourself.  It was one of those quick reads that make you feel good. I know there was a smile on my face when I finished the last sentence. I can’t wait to read about the next sexy curvy woman finding love in book three.

About the AuthorKristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Ruby Scott is months behind on rent and can’t seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed—and then coughed on—her at a party the night before.

Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity; a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he’s out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick.

Seeing his role in Ruby’s dilemma, Bane offers her a permanent job as his live-in pet sitter until she can get back on her feet. Filled with hilariously awkward encounters and enough sexual tension to heat a New York City block, Shacking Up, from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting, is sure to keep you laughing and swooning all night long.

I think there is certain style one expects from a Helena Hunting book.  It has to be funny.  It has to be charming.  It has to be so sexy that you can’t read the book in a public place.  I think that Shacking Up delivers all that.  It was cute, very sexy, and parts of it had me cracking up. It’s also predictable and very cheesy. But, I think that is what I liked about Shacking Up.  It is not the kind of read that is going to make you think about it days after.  It is what is and that is, a cheesy book that will put a smile on your face while you are reading it.

Shacking Up is about a young woman named Ruby.  Ruby is a trust fund kid.  But, she doesn’t want the strings that come attached to that trust fund.  These said strings are: settling down, moving back home and, working for her father’s pharmaceutical company.  Ruby has dreams that don’t include a boring job, a suitable husband, and 2.5 kids.  She dreams of becoming a Broadway actress.  Her dreams come with a lot rejection and no money.  That is how Ruby finds herself becoming the live in pet sitter for Bancroft, her best friend’s fiancé’s friend.  Bancroft is a retired Ruby player who has gone to work for his father’s hotel business.  He travels all the time and needs someone he can trust to take care of his pets, aka his babies.

I liked this book because right off the bat the chemistry between Ruby and Bancroft was explosive.  I mean even their meet cute is unique and kind of funny.  I also liked that Bancroft didn’t have the typical pets.  No, he does not own some big manly dog.  He has a pet ferret and a tarantula.  I liked that Ruby comes to care for his pets.  I am not sure I could come to care for big hairy spider, lol.  I liked that the ferret played an important part in the book because she is adorable.  But, it also showed that Bancroft really does love his pets because he asks Ruby to send him updates while he is away.  That is when things really steam up because phone dates take off from there.  All throughout the book, I liked how adamant Ruby is about finding her own place.  There is something to be said for an independent woman who doesn’t want to fall for a man just because he can take care of her.  I think the best relationships are because the couple wants to be together not because they have to be together.

My only complaint was I wish there was more about Ruby’s best friend.  Ruby’s friend is engaged to a tool but none of that gets resolved by the end of this book.  Hopefully, there will be another book where the friend gets her own happy ending.  Overall, I really enjoyed Shacking Up.  It was super cute, super cheesy, and super sexy.  I definitely recommend Shacking Up if you looking for a good beach read this summer.
