Ellie has a bad habit of picking the wrong man; a cheating ex-boyfriend, a mild-mannered foot fetishist, and let’s not forget about the hillbilly with the impolite hard-on. But when Sam James, the oh-so-hot bad boy Ellie has sworn to stay away from, keeps turning up like a bad penny, she’s going to need more than her psychic senses to see what’s coming her way.
It is no secret that I like books full of romance and happily ever after. When I saw a book about a heroine pursuing her own happily ever after, I knew I had to read The Break-Up Psychic. I sat down to just read a few pages, and before I knew it, I had read the entire book in one afternoon. I am glad too because I liked this book so much I would have been disappointed if I would have had to put it down for such mundane tasks like going to work. It is after reading The Break-Up Psychic in one sitting that I can I say I really liked it.
The Break-Up Psychic is an adult romance novel about a late something woman looking for happily ever after. After coming home on her lunch break one afternoon Ellie discovers her live in boyfriend Tim in a comprising situation with a neighbor from the building. Even though this serious and heart breaking thing has just happened the laughs start from there. Of course, the neighbor just stands in all her naked glory and a joke is made about parts only a waxer or lover should see. The laughs don’t stop there from Ellies’s witchy coworker, to inappropriate fair costumes, and even blind dates where toes are molested. The story even had a bit of magic thrown in for good measure. I liked that Ellie could sense heart break. I liked that there was even some magic whiskey that helps bring on the happy sexy fun times, lol.
What I really liked about this book was that while it was fun it was also about believing in yourself and having faith in love. Of course, that one Ellie loves is a sexy biker with a killer dimple. All in all I liked this book about love and trust. I really liked the cast of colorful characters in the small east Texas town because who doesn’t love good old fashioned redneck humor. I highly recommended this book to anyone looking for a good read to escape into for a couple hours. The Break-Up Psychic was cute, fun, full of some good humor, and my favorite, of course, happy endings. I give it four stars because it definitely left me on a nice cloud of happy.
