John Taylor is marrying the love of his life, Suzie Shooter, the Nightside’s most fearsome bounty hunter. But before he can walk down the aisle he has one more case to solve as a private eye — a case that has him on the run from friends and enemies both, with his bride-to-be looking to collect the bounty on his head...

Sadly, this is the last book in the Nightside series, but what an ending. The enigmatic John Taylor is actually getting married. And of course, it’s to the deadly Shotgun Suzie. But seems a few other things have come up before he can walk down the isle with his beloved.

While on his first official case as the Walker of the Nightside he encounters a bit of a problem. Framed for the murder of a world renowned mover and shaker in the Nightside, John must bring the truth to light while fighting off all the bounty hunters who are out for his head. Including apparently his love Suzie Shooter, also known as “oh Christ, it’s her, run”.

As this is the last book in this series, but we certainly hope not the last book in this setting, the author spends most of the book tying up most of the loose ends lying about. And he does a wonderful job at leading us on a merry chase while we cheer for John and feel his pain as he tries to bring who he thinks the real killer is to justice.

I won’t give away any more of the secrets in this book, but I will say it ended the series wonderfully and earned its 4 star rating. I will be checking out further novels from Simon R. Green in the near future.
