Millie Cross knows what it's like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and he was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn't be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie's chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can't ignore. And this time, she won't let him ride off . . .

Bad boy Logan "High" Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she's just a ghost of her former self. High's intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn't want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie's betrayal, he'll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man . . .

This year I have become a big fan of Kristen Ashley. I love the men and women that make up the world of Chaos MC. That being said, I liked Walk Through Fire but I didn’t love it. It did take me a while to get through this book because while liked Millie and High’s story I just didn’t connect with it the way I did with the story in Ride Steady. I think what kept this book from dropping below four stars is that cast of supporting characters I have come to love so much. I love the antics of Elvira and getting to revisit past favorites through the eyes of new characters. As far of the love story of Millie and High is concerned, I had high hopes but felt that it was drug out some areas.

Millie and High used to date but Millie received some devastating news so instead of telling High she packs up her bags and leaves him. “When you love someone you walk through fire for them.” Millie never remarried and pinned for the love her life for twenty years. Now, fate has brought Millie and High back together but High wants revenge on the woman who ripped his heart out.

I liked the idea at a second chance at love. I liked the way the story flipped back and forth between their past relationship and their present. It made it believable for the whirlwind relationship in the present. This story was passionate like all Kristen Ashley books. It was believable at the same time. Millie and High’s eyes don’t meet across a crowded restaurant and fall magically back in love. There is a lot of baggage to settle up first. Like why Millie left, an ex-wife, and two kids. Once most of that is settled except it takes one of the kids to come around for a while, things really take off. Then there is the whole plot line of the drug dealer Valenzuela that a little more gets revealed with each book in the Chaos series. I don’t know I felt that there was a lot going on in this book: High hates Millie, Millie hates High, Millie and High fall madly in love, High’s youngest girl is a brat, and too many POVs in this story.

Even after all that it was still engrossing read because of the Chaos MC is a family. Even though Walk Through Fire might have focused on Millie and High getting it right the second time around, each book is like coming home again. I feel like these characters are a part of my life now because I heart them so much. I am giving Walk Through Fire four stars because like always these characters welcomed me back with open arms.
