The Hidden Legacy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews continues as Nevada and Rogan navigate a world where magic is the norm…and their relationship burns hot

Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she's used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family's detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor "Mad" Rogan.

Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …

Can, I just after finishing this book I was like, WOW!  I think I liked White Hot even better than Burn For Me and that is saying something since I loved Burn For Me.  This series has it all: hot sexy fun times, action galore, and an intense mystery that just keeps bigger and bigger. I love a book that can make feel so many feels.  White Hot definitely kept me on the edge my seat.  One minute I was swooning and the next I was biting my nails.  White Hot was fabulous I could not put it down and ended up reading it in one day.

White Hot takes a place some weeks after the events of Burn For Me.  Nevada is going about her life as usual.  She is taking private eye jobs and basically just living her life day to day.  She has not seen Rogan and she is not sure she wants to.  Then a job lands in her lap that could put her life and the life her family’s in danger.  Nevada is the kind of person who seeks truth and justice and she just can’t resist taking on this job.  This job lands her into the kind of trouble that has mercenaries knocking on her door.  Of course, this puts her right back in the path of Rogan.  This time neither one of them is going to deny the passion that burns between them.

There was this part in the book in the book when one of Rogan’s employees/soldier is telling Nevada a story of their time in the military. How some soldiers can come back to civilian life changed but they can still assimilate.   How some men like Rogan will never assimilate because they irrevocably changed. It will take a special woman to love him.   This is why I love this series because Nevada does not need protection from Rogan she is the kind of woman that can be his partner.  There is nothing wrong that some people need to be protected from the darker side of life. If I was married to a cop or soldier I am not sure I would want to know all his work stories because I would never want to leave my house again. Nevada is a woman that will do what she has to survive and make sure her family survives too. She is not just a normal woman.  She is a powerful magic user.  She is the equal partner for somebody like Rogan.  There is something quite sexy reading that moment when the alpha male knows he has picked an alpha female because he knows when shit hits the fan she his back and he has hers.

I can’t wait to find out what is in store for Nevada, Rogan, and their merry band of misfits in the next book.   After that ending I need book three like right now!
