[ARC Review] Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

I would have to say this book starts out a little slow, but if you are like me and stick with it then the book does pay off in the end. If you have not read any of the other books then read no further. There might be some spoilers in this review. Heir of Fire is very much an epic fantasy. There is some kissing (though not much), lots of despair, lots of action, and (what I liked most) it is full of hope. I think that if I could describe the theme of Heir of Fire in one… Read more »

[ARC Review] Shattered by Mari Mancusi

I did a re-read of Scorched just to familiarize myself with this world again right before diving into Shattered. I am not going to lie, I am sucker for anything with dragons in it. I liked Shattered for the most part. It picks up a couple days after where Scorched left off. Trinity, her two bodyguards from the future, and her grandpa are still on the run and holed up in an abandoned farm house. With the addition of a new character called Scarlett whom just happens to run into Emmy, the last dragon on earth, and Scarlett ends up… Read more »

[Review] Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Crown of Midnight is so much better than the first book Throne of Glass.  I have become a convert!  I am now a Throne of Glass fangirl because I am in so much like with this series after reading Crown of Midnight!  There is action, romance, and gut wrenching heartbreak. I stayed up into the wee hours of the night because I couldn’t put this book down. My book hangover at work the next day was completely worth it. Crown of Midnight is so good that it even has Darth Vader dancing with glee. Crown of Midnight picks up a couple… Read more »

[Review] The Break-Up Psychic by Emily Hemmer

21 August

It is no secret that I like books full of romance and happily ever after. When I saw a book about a heroine pursuing her own happily ever after, I knew I had to read The Break-Up Psychic. I sat down to just read a few pages, and before I knew it, I had read the entire book in one afternoon. I am glad too because I liked this book so much I would have been disappointed if I would have had to put it down for such mundane tasks like going to work. It is after reading The Break-Up… Read more »

[Review] Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

My first reaction after finishing this book is that I love it, no I adore it. This book is so amazing it makes me want to do a happy dance. I don’t think I ever told anyone but the very first Kindle book I ever purchased and read was Anna and the French Kiss. I really liked that book and then I read Lola and the Boy Next Door. I fell in love with Stephanie Perkins’ writing and this world even more. Now I have finished this series and I didn’t think it was possible to fall even more in… Read more »

[Audiobook Review] Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

14 August

I am trying to re-listen or re-read a book that I didn’t finish every so often this year. Sweet Evil is one of those books I decided to give another go. Sometimes I stop reading a book not because it is horrible but because I probably got distracted for some reason or another. I think the first time I listened to Sweet Evil it was because the first half of the book is kind of boring and stopped about 30% into it.  After making it through the entire audiobook it didn’t get much better. My reactions while listening to this… Read more »

What if you woke up to discover that your entire life had been a lie, what would you do? Everything you thought was reality was instead a made up video game. That is what is happens to Claudia Virtue, the heroine in The Aftermath. One day she wakes up to discover that everything she knew was all a lie and she has been a character in a reality RPG game all along. She can’t remember anything of her previous life and all she knows is that for the last three years, as long as she has been in The Aftermath,… Read more »

[Audiobook Review] Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

I got this book as an e-ARC and started reading it, but quickly discovered it was kind of boring. Then I found out that Emma Watson was producing this book into a movie and was going to star in it, so I thought there must be something I am missing. I waited until the audiobook came out and decided to give Queen of the Tearling another try. I have to say it was a lot easier to get through as an audiobook because Katherine Kellgren is an amazing narrator. She really made the book come alive. Unfortunately, not enough to… Read more »
