Sometimes I am in the mood for some light and entertaining reading. Rebel Mechanics fulfilled my wishes in that regard. I started this book at work and had it read by the time I went to bed that night. I am giving Rebel Mechanics four stars because I really liked the world of magic and mechanics. It was a quick, fun and very entertaining read. Rebel Mechanics is set in the year 1888 in New York City. This is not the New York City one would know from the history books. America is still a colony of the British Empire,… Read more »

I liked parts of this book but there were parts I didn’t like. It wasn’t the best book I have read or the worst. It was just okay. I think I was just looking for something a little bit more. I am giving A Million Miles Away three stars and it was just a meh and shrug kind of book.     I know I am going to say this and shocker when I say it but I wish there was a bit more angst. A bit more drama. The girl pretended to be her dead twin sister for almost… Read more »

I liked the other Chaos books. I freaking loved this book!!!  This review is going to be short and sweet because otherwise it will be nothing but a jumbled mess of my love for this book.  I am giving this book five stars because I want to sing its praises. Ride Steady became a favorite because it is so sweet and genuine. I loved the relationship between Carissa and Joker. He could have gone down a bad road growing up with a dad that abused him and it took a couple of years but he got his act together joined one of the good… Read more »

I loved Every Last Word! This book was one of those reads that put me through the feels ringer and I loved every minute of it. I cried, I smiled, and I cheered. I was just going to read a couple of chapters on Sunday but before I knew it was three p.m. and I had read the entire book. It was just that good that I could not put it down. Now I am about to explain why I liked this book and there might be spoilers. I don’t want to put any down but I can’t explain some… Read more »

“I’m not going to be raped. I’m not going to be murdered. I’m going to bring him to justice so this never happens to anyone else. I’m not going to think like a victim. I’m going to think like a winner. Because that’s what I am. I’m Ruthless, by God, and I need to act like it.” I read this book whimsically, not sure what I was going to get into. The premise seemed sound, but a young adult, dark, gritty thriller? I assumed that it would be lacking. It wasn’t. I sat down and read it straight through, but… Read more »

[ARC Review] Alive by Chandler Baker

I liked the beginning of this book but I thought the end fell flat and just fizzled out. I liked the beginning, a story about a girl that gets a heart transplant and falls for the new guy at school because he makes the pain in her chest go away. Then there the creepy visions, mind boggling pain that only came at certain times of day, and the feeling that she is being followed. I thought this book was to be romantic and creepy. The tag line says “Stella’s heart is poisoned.” I am expecting some major creepiness like with… Read more »

[ARC Review] The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert

This book took a little while for me to get into the story. In the end, I ended up liking this book. I have come to realize after reading The Marriage Contract is that I am becoming a fan of Katee Robert. I like her style of gritty action, hot sexy fun times, and humor. While I may not have connected to Callie and Teague right away, I did like the side characters. The Marriage Contract is about two people tied to the mob underworld in Boston. Callie Sheridan thinks she is just going to the strip club to check… Read more »

When I finished this book it was with thoughts of hope. I think that is what I liked best about this book, because it was about hope. Hope that Oliver would come back after being kidnapped by his dad. Hope for Emmy because she wanted her parents let go and let her live her life. Hope that everyone could be able to, after ten years, move past something so terrible. Emmy & Oliver is about two teens that reconnect and find love after one of them, Oliver, is kidnapped. Everyone expects Oliver to just fall right back in with his… Read more »

[ARC Review] The Cage by Megan Shepherd

When I finished this book the first thought I had was a feeling of accomplishment. Why? I had a really really really hard time getting into this book at first. It started with five teenagers waking up in a place and having no idea of who they were there or who put them there in the first place. I felt just as confused, as a reader,  because the book kept jumping around from so many points of view and all of them told in third person point of view. I just found it hard to keep up with and at some points,… Read more »

[Arc Review] Grave Matters by Lauren M. Roy

Overall this entire review contains spoilers. It contains spoilers for book one, and spoilers for this book. Read at your own caution.  You know, honestly, Ace/Roc was awesome enough to, even though I didn’t make it on their street team, give me an ARC anyway. This happened to be the one they gave me. Woohoo, free books! I even picked up the first one and read it straight through. Unfortunately, I didn’t like this one as much as the first. Sure, all the characters are there doing the exact same things I enjoyed about them in the first place, but… Read more »
