I have been in this mini reading slump. I knew I needed to read something that was full of romance. Something that would get my reading juices flowing again. I didn’t even know what this book was book was about but in the word of Shia Labeouf, I knew I just needed to “just do it” aka in my world just read it. Ride Hard was everything I was looking for to help get me back in the reading swing of things. I am a fan of Laura Kaye’s Hard Ink series. When I saw this book up for request… Read more »

[ARC Review] Nightstruck by Jenna Black

Nightstruck starts out really really creepy and that insidious feeling never lets go the whole way through. Imagine a place where inanimate objects can come alive and murder people on the streets. Imagine a dark magic that can infect people to the point they are killing each other on the streets. I really liked this book because parts of it made the hair on my arm stand up.   This review will be very short and sweet because I don’t want to give too much away. I think the best part of experience reading Nightstruck was that didn’t know too… Read more »

[ARC Review] All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan

This story wasn’t about a guy in prison that got framed. Nor, is it a story about a man trying to solve some problem with gangs when he gets out of prison. It is a story about a guy who made and has been paying for it ever since. Was this my favorite Sophie Jordan book? No. I can’t gush and love every book she writes. There wasn’t some big mystery or nonstop action. I didn’t end up hating this book it was just a sweet romance about two people learning to open up and find love. All Chain Up… Read more »

I admit I picked this book up on a whim. It was on sale on Audible and I have been trying to give more indie publications a shot, so I thought what the heck. The cover was definitely a bit freaky and I wasn’t sure what to expect so back, to my what the heck attitude. I began listening to Freaky Days. Imagine my surprise when I actually really liked this book.   I even quote parts of it to my friends and coworkers now. Freaky Days is a murder mystery set in a traveling circus. But, Mystic Caravan isn’t just… Read more »

[Review] Marked In Flesh by Anne Bishop

The more books I read in The Others series the more I fall into even more like with this series. Marked in Flesh, the latest installment, had it all: touching moments, on the edge of seat thrills, moments of laughter, and even the seeds to a future romance.     Marked in Flesh was all about “how much human should they keep.” Not just human survivors but human customs and human goods as well. I think the real question in this story is, who are the real monsters? It is easy for humans to be scared of things that go… Read more »

I got an E-ARC of Into the Dim but there are just not enough hours in the day; so I decided to buy the audiobook and listen to this book while I was at work. I am glad I did because I really really enjoyed Into the Dim. It was full action, romance, and of course, time travel. I can say I liked this book even more because it was narrated by one of my favorite audiobook narrators: Amanda Ronconi. For those who don’t know who Amanda Ronconi is she narrates adult romance author Molly Harper’s novels. I just love… Read more »

[ARC Review]Lady Bridget’s Diary by Maya Rodale

I am big fan of Maya Rodale’s historical romance novels. When I saw this book up for review, I just knew I had to read it. I was definitely not disappointed. It was just like in a good historical romance: cute cheesiness, kisses galore, and swoony lords. Plus this story is a Pride and Prejudice retelling with a handsome Darcy in a wet shirt.     Lady Bridget’s Diary was just the kind of read I searching for, meaning it is a light fluffy romance. The story is a Pride and Prejudice retelling so I don’t think I need to… Read more »

[Review]The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

I think the theme of this book should be:   I kept thinking that over and again as Nix broods over and over again about her father.   Nix’s dad is a time traveler. He can take any map from any time and place and sail there. It is about all about belief and abilities. Nix was born in Honolulu in 1868. Her mother died giving birth to her while Nix’s dad was out traveling. Now, for as long as Nix can remember he is obsessed with getting back to the time before Nix’s mom met her dad because he sure… Read more »

[Review] Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan

I am big fan of Sophie Jordan’s adult romances. I knew this was a book I needed to read. Oh man, it was so good!     Set in fantasy world that has gone dark literally, Reign of Shadows was a book that was anything but boring. I really ended liking this book! For me the pacing was fast and the plot interesting. The story is about a girl named Luna who is blind but it is not a hindrance in a world filled with darkness. Luna has been in hiding all her life. She was raised in the safety… Read more »

I admit the first time I read The Mediator series I was not officially a teen but I was close enough to it. I freaking loved this series. I love Suze and Jesse. I love the Suze and her wacky ghost adventures. I can remember when the sixth book came out, my friend and I went to the book store that day. Then I proceeded to re-read the entire series because I wanted it all fresh when I got to what I thought would be the last book in one weekend. When I saw there would basically be a reunion… Read more »
