These Royals will ruin you.

Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.

Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.

Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.

She might be right.

Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.

*Warning* This review does not have any Fallen Heir spoilers but does contain some spoilers regarding the first three book in the Royals series.

Don’t hate me but Easton is not my favorite Royal.

I think Reed and Ella are and always be my favorite characters. I have always thought Easton was a self-absorbed entitled jerk. Sure, he connected with Ella and became someone she could trust and a brother she never had. But, Easton has addiction issues that stem from mental health issues. He needs professional help. I am not saying that as a negative thing. I am saying that as someone who struggles with mental health issues. It takes a lot of courage and maturity to admit when you need help to deal mental health issues. Those are two traits Easton does not have in this story. He is not some loveable misunderstood character. He is not some character that has been dealt a bad hand and with a little TLC everything will be all better. Easton is a character that has major issues. He is an alcoholic who never learned to cope with the grief of his mother’s death. He is also entitled and thinks the world revolves around his whims and desires. No, I don’t like Easton but I am not sure I am meant to like Easton at this point in his life.

Sometimes, sadly, it can take hitting rock bottom before a person realizes they need to seek out help for mental health issues. I did like that the authors don’t sugar coat the addiction. They don’t sugar coat the feelings of entitlement. They don’t sugar coat the consequences these two things can cause. I like that Easton is kind of anti-hero. You are supposed to think he is jerk. You are supposed to think he is self-absorbed. He is also sweet. He is also caring. He has many shades to his personality because he is human. We as humans struggle, make mistakes, and in the end try to carry on. Some of us like Easton need help to carry on because we are too afraid to heal the festering wounds of the past. In the end, I liked that Easton felt like a real person.

My only complaint about the story was I did feel that some of this book was a little slow paced for my tastes. Again, that is just me being a nitpicker, I think it moved a little slow because it took me awhile to connect with Easton and his story. I liked that the entire story was from Easton’s POV. I think it really helped to connect with his character. I definitely liked him better when I knew where he was coming from. When I knew there were times when he didn’t even like himself but didn’t know how to change. I definitely can’t read book two. Because, nobody does a cliffhanger quite like Erin Watt. I have my fingers crossed for Easton in the book. By the end of this book my heart was really feeling the feels.

Hands down, my favorite thing in the world is to score. Touchdowns.

Don’t let the fact that I’m the leading pick in the Most Valuable Playboy charity auction fool you. These days, I’m only a player on the field. I’ve kept my pants zipped all season long — and it has been long — because nothing’s more important than leading my team to victory every week. Except maybe escaping from the team owner’s recently-widowed and handsy-as-hell sister who’s dead set on winning more than a date with me.

Enter Violet and a well-placed Hail Mary.

She’s my best friend’s sister with a smile as sweet as cherry pie and a mind that runs quicker than the 40-yard-dash. After Violet saves the day with the highest bid, I don’t even give her a two-minute warning before I kiss her in front of the whole crowd and then announce that she’s my girlfriend. Which would be fine except my agent tells me we have to keep up the act while he’s negotiating my contract.
Violet takes one for the team and pretends to be mine, but our boyfriend-girlfriend scrimmage quickly turns into a full contact sport, and I want it to go into overtime. The problem is — I’ve been riding the bench for years.

How can a guy like me, who finally has a chance to prove his worth on the field, convince the girl she’s most valuable to his heart?

MOST VALUABLE PLAYBOY is a brand new standalone sports romance written in the guy’s POV!

Excerpt:

The business suit woman raises a hand, offering forty-one hundred.

Maxine’s eyes laser in on me, and she slashes an arm through the air. “Five thousand dollars,” she says, jacking the price up by nine hundred and staking her claim. I shudder inside.

The guy’s eyes widen, and he holds up his hands. “I’m out.”

My stomach plummets when the business woman shakes her head.

“Going once?” Sierra asks, scanning the tables, looking for perhaps one last big spender. My eyes scan the crowd, too. Hell, maybe I’ll find an escape hatch. A trapdoor to drop into and disappear like in a magic act. Maybe Trent will learn to read my mind. Trent, I’ll cover you for anything you bid. Just raise that hand, name a price, and save me.

My best friend’s expression is merely curious now as he watches Maxine and Sierra, waiting for the verdict. My opportunity to play yard boy slips through my fingers.

The look in Maxine’s eyes is pure satisfaction as she waits for the final word. She winks at me, as if we have a secret. Holy shit. She thinks I want this. She thinks I want her to win me.

A flash of chestnut brown hair in the back catches my attention. A flurry of silver. It’s Violet, hands in the air, wildly flapping over her head in the middle of the ballroom. She brings her finger to her nose. And she’s tapping it, like fucking Santa Claus coming down the chimney, and Harlan tapping his nose to signal his agent, and all the greatest solutions in the universe at once.

My heart goes crazy.

It hammers in my chest. This is like finding an open receiver a second before you’re sacked.

“Going twice,” Sierra says, trailing off as she waits.

I raise my arm and tap my nose, too. Violet is the only one who knows I need to get out of this jam. She’s the only one I mentioned it to. And she’s the only one now who can save me.

“Ten thousand dollars.”

Holy shit. Violet does not mess around with my money. Her eyes widen, as if she’s surprised she bid that high.

My gaze finds Trent. He’s staring at his sister, slack-jawed.

Sierra’s smile is bright and wide. “Ten thousand dollars. Do we have ten thousand, one hundred?”

The room is hushed. Maxine’s expression is blank. She must be shocked. She probably didn’t expect anyone to vie with her to this extent.

I tap my foot, willing Sierra to close this quickly. Just slam the door shut, please, fucking please.

“Going one. Going twice.”

I say a silent prayer. I cross my fingers. I hope.

Maxine blinks, opens her mouth, and I steel myself for a disgustingly high counter bid.

But there’s only silence. No words come. Violet has shocked her speechless. This type of bid wasn’t in Maxine’s playbook.

Sierra raises her arm. “And a night with the quarterback is sold for ten thousand dollars.”

Talk about a Hail Mary.

THE WILL
SOARING

EXCERPT:

Present day…

I took in the mess of the large, circular room we were in and at first saw nothing but the mess—decaying furniture, a soot-covered stone fireplace, a kitchen that might have been put in in the forties but had not only not been touched the last nine years, it perhaps had not been touched the last nineteen (or more).

Then I saw more.

The extraordinarily carved railing to the sweeping wood staircase that ran the curved side of the house. The red brick walls. The plank wood floors.

“Once upon a time, long ago,” the realtor was suddenly talking wistfully, “someone loved this place. Put that love into building it. Put that love into keeping it. Nine years and more when no one really gave a whit, and still you can see it once had a lot of love.”

Oh yes.

You could see that.

“It’s got a basement, more like a big crawl space,” the agent declared, surprising me with his quick change in tone back to businesslike and informative. “The furnace is down there. You can get down there through a door in the floor. The furnace was put in a while back, and full disclosure, though an inspection will catch it, it probably needs to be replaced.”

Through his words I stared at the fireplace, which scoured would be magnificent, and I noticed it didn’t have a chimney as such, but the smoke probably went out a vent in the wall.

“This floor has a powder room under the stairs,” the realtor kept on. “You can look at it if you want, but if you wanna save yourself that, I’ll just tell you straight, it needs to be gutted.”

I decided to take his word for it and told him that.

He looked relieved when I did before he stated, “Place has a garage, two car. Not in good condition, but think you saw that. Still, it’s close to the house and there’s a covered walkway to that door over there.” He pointed at a door that was across from the door we’d walked in. “Means you might feel a chill but you won’t get wet, unless it’s raining sideways, which happens.”

With a breeze that plastered my jacket to me on a sunny, early spring day, I did not doubt that.

“Garage has a loft space above it, which could be renovated as a studio rental if you’ve a mind to do that sort of thing. As for the property itself, it also has a building where the generators are stowed,” the realtor carried on. “Hook up for a washer and dryer and good space in there. Lots of it for storage. Which is good because there’s not a lot of storage in here for tools and Christmas decorations and whatnot.”

I glanced around seeing he was right. There wasn’t even enough cabinetry to house the things a decent cook would need in her kitchen. Though there was room for them. In fact, if you fought back the gloom, there was quite a bit of room.

“And there’s a place outside, could call it a studio, could call it a mother-in-law house,” he shared. “Whatever, it’s got goodly space, two bedrooms, big kitchen. Could be renovated to be a guest house. Or like I said, a studio if you’re artsy. Or you could rent it out like a B and B. I’ll show you all of that after we have a look at the lighthouse.”

“Thanks,” I replied.

“Now, since I mentioned full disclosure, you have to know it all,” the realtor continued.

Slowly, my eyes went to him.

When they did, he launched in. “Like I said, it’s automated. And like I said, you won’t really have to concern yourself with the functionality of that unless the electricity goes out, but then the generators automatically kick in. There are two. But you’ll need to keep fuel on hand to keep them going in case a blackout lasts awhile. And just to say, this is coastal Maine. We get weather. Blackouts can last awhile.”

When I nodded to share I took that in, he kept going.

“And if you’re, say, away on vacation, you need to make sure someone is playing backup in such a case.”

“Okay,” I replied when he stopped talking, thinking this probably wasn’t a good thing since I knew no one in Maine (or not anyone who wanted to know me) and thus couldn’t call on anyone to do something like that.

I also didn’t hold high hopes I’d make friends and win people. I hadn’t had a lot of success in that in my life.

And last, although Patrick believed it completely, I held no hope that the reason I was out there was going to come to fruition.

That being me having a happy ending.

That being what Patrick thought would be my happy ending.

Which might mean I’d have someone, a certain someone, or actually two (at least), even though I knew I never would.

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

The Embraced Series
By Kerrelyn Sparks

Kerrelyn Sparks is no stranger to the New York Times bestseller list, as her massive fan base couldn’t seem to get enough of her Love at Stake series. Sparks then introduced her extraordinary fantasy romance series, The Embraced, with How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days last March. Set in a medieval mythical world, the series follows a special group of people with powers born when the two moons of the world form an eclipse. Now comes the captivating second installment, SO I MARRIED A SORCERER (St. Martin’s Paperbacks; August 29, 2017), where readers meet Brigitta, our fierce and powerful new heroine.
Growing up on the Isle of Moon, Brigitta knows nothing of her past, except that she is Embraced: born with powers that forced her into hiding. Everything changes when she learns she’s a princess, hidden away from her villainous half-brother who now rules the kingdom. But he knows about Brigitta, and he’ll do anything to get her back. Unless a certain roguish pirate has anything to say about it.
Rupert is both an infamous pirate and a sorcerer with the power to harness the wind. He’s been waiting nineteen years for revenge—and he needs Brigitta to get it. What begins as a kidnapping of the fiery beauty turns into a fierce attraction. But can he win the captive princess’s heart?

Filled with romance, adventure, and a vividly imagined new world, SO I MARRIED A SORCERER is a fantasy in the vein of Game of Thrones with all the fun of The Princess Bride. Audiences will become enthralled with spunky Brigitta and her misunderstood captor, in a world where passion, fantasy, and royal intrigue collide. The characters put everything on the line as it is not just their relationship at stake, but their survival as well.

Now it is time for the review.

So I Married a Sorcerer is book two in the Embraced series. These books are about four adopted sisters finding love and making their own destiny. I have to say that I really enjoy this fantasy world that Kerrelyn Sparks has created. It is a land full of magic and mystical creatures. It even has dragons!!!

Game of Thrones game of thrones hbo dragon dragons GIF
On that note, I have to say I enjoyed So I Married a Sorcerer even more than the first book in the series. This book is about Brigitta. She has just found out that she is the long lost sister to the King of a land called Tourinian. Her brother, the King, has come to collect her because he needs an heir. But, there is another that gets to her first and this man kidnaps her because he plans to ransom her to the King. The man who kidnaps Brigitta is a famous Sorcerer Pirate called Rupert.
But, Brigitta is not some helpless damsel. She has plans to figure out what the famous pirate is hiding and then make her own destiny. I must admit, I really liked Brigitta. She is just the right amount of naive and spunky. There is a scene in a cave by a pool of water that cracks me up. Because, Brigitta has been raised by nuns her knowledge of men and their bodies is definitely lacking. It was a scene that was endearing and definitely funny. Especially, since her protector Sister Fallyn is so scared that the only things Pirates want is to ravish fair maidens. I gotta agree Brigitta that I might let a hot noble pirate ravish me.

 something nodding stressed fanning GIF

I also liked Brigitta’s spunk because she did not just sit around and wait for her hero to do all the work.  I liked that she was willing to fight for her love.  I liked most of all that she was willing to fight for herself.  Most of the times in fantasy stories the men control the fate of the land and women are usually just along for the ride.  In So I Married a Sorcerer, it takes a strong spunky heroine, like Brigitta to make a man see that he needs an equal and not some simpering miss.
I thought So I Married a Sorcerer was fun book. I really enjoy a good cheesy fantasy romance every now and then, and this book delivers that. This story was full of adventure, intrigue, and of course, ravishingly sexy fun times. Each story is the love story of one sister. I like how there is one enemy that is tying each story together. I am definitely curious how it will all be tied up in the end.

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him.

Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.

I didn’t think he’d call me back.

I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.

Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.

Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

A complete STANDALONE.

Penelope Ward is a New York Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling author of thirteen novels. With over a million books sold, her titles have placed on the New York Times Bestseller list sixteen times. She is the proud mother of a beautiful 12-year-old girl with autism (the inspiration for the character Callie in Gemini) and a 10-year-old boy. Blake is on a mission from his alpha--to track down a werewolf whose parents dragged her into the human world years ago, one who may be in danger. He expects the lead to go nowhere, given how few wolves live among humans, but he discovers something rare indeed, caged in a basement: a beautiful, curvy woman gripped by the fever, ready to mate.

Ashley Todd has never fit in. She's always been too much--too big, too demanding, too aware of the wolf hiding beneath her skin. She's been locked away for months—been alone for a lifetime—and in walks Blake to save her from her prison. Her rescuer is hard, intense—a dominant wolf whose bossy attitude makes her growl...and yearn to submit.

Soothing Ashley’s mating fever is Blake’s responsibility--and his pleasure. Their passion is explosive, undeniable. But what started out as a job for Blake quickly becomes something more, and the toughest part of his mission looms: taking Ashley back to his pack so she can choose her permanent mate from amongst his brethren.

Ashley is drawn to dominant Blake, but meeting the rest of the pack reignites her desire. She is overwhelmed by her new life and all it entails, but embracing her inner wolf means embracing the truth: if she doesn’t explore her attraction to the other members of the pack, she’ll never find her forever mate .

Protecting Their Mate was originally published as an eight part serial under the penname Mia Thorne. It has been repackaged, but the story remains the same.

Fry here! Release day for this bad boy! I’m happy to say that I’m finally back reading and reviewing. Did you miss me?

I’m happy to say that this romance novel doesn’t skimp and delivers everything it says on the tin. There’s werewolf man pain, alpha male feels, a protagonist that’s on the larger side of the dress size spectrum, and TONS of sex. Whew. Over half of this 71 pages are sex.

Being a serial, it suffers a bit from pacing, and a lot of the deeper plot elements are missing in order to make way for the more titillating aspects. I hope that they’ll expand more upon some of the mysteries in either later parts of this set of serials or the promised next books in the series, but that’s me getting too serious about it. This book was a whole lot of fun and I’m definitely going to read more.

So if you want a fun paranormal romance that’s just brimming to the edge with sexy scenes, you should totally pick this one up. Give your brain a flirty, fun, sensual snack.

HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this third volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new, heart-wrenching, and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Tristan Pierce left the family business to carve out a life of his own, but never forgot his passionate affair with the much younger, inexperienced Sydney Greene, or the hurtful breakup that tore him apart. When he’s forced to return home and face his past, will he be able to carve out a future, or will lies ruin his second chance at love?

Sydney Greene loved Tristan her entire life but when he left, he took not only her heart, but her trust along with him. Now that they’re together again, it’s time they both face the biggest secret of all...

I must admit I really like second chance romance stories. I know from experience that sometimes making a relationship work really is all about timing.  Why you might ask do I know about how a second chance at love can make all the difference?  Because, my parent’s love story was a second chance at love and they are still together to this day.  When I read the synopsis of All or Nothing at All I knew it was a story that I needed to read.

supernatural excited yes dean winchester jensen ackles GIF

All or Nothing at All was a quick read that I devoured in days.  For the most part I really did like the story. I liked how this book is part of a series but it is really a stand alone.  You can read the books out of order.  I know because I did.  The story starts in present day with flash backs to the past.  A past that explains how Tristan and Sydney grew up together.  Sydney always had a crush on Tristan.  One day, he finally notices that she is a woman.  They just couldn’t get the timing right the first time. Tristan’s mom passed away and he was hurting.   He was fighting with his family all the time. He knew he had to leave.  Sydney knew she couldn’t go with him because she was pregnant and not looking to trap anyone into a relationship.  Sometimes people just have to leave and grow on their own.  Sometimes those growing pains can do irreparable damage.  Sometimes, like in Sydney and Tristan’s case, the love never goes away and that is when timing comes into play.

Almost seven years have gone by and now they are both in place to give the relationship a second chance. I really liked this story at this point.  It was just the typical I am going to win you back story because I never stopped loving you story. I was okay with this because that is what I signed up for.  I was on board with this second chance at romance.  The chemistry between Sydney and Tristan was on fire.  Then something happens and that is when the story kind of loses points.  I was like what the what.

Sydney has to tell Tristan that the little girl she is raising is not her ex-husband’s kid but his. Of course, this truth causes a rip in their new budding love affair. Instead of asking for joint custody he demands she marry him or he will fight her tooth and nail for sole custody. So, they get married in this arrangement for the sake of the kid. All I can think is yeah this going to work out so well. I will never understand why people think this stuff works.  Getting married for the sake of the children never works.  All it does is end with everyone’s heart in tatters.  I was so mad at Tristan at this point in the story.  I really did not like him or Sydney.   I think what this couple really needed was couple counseling. There is nothing wrong with talking to a professional when someone in the relationship has kept a secret so big it is too painful and hard to let go. The getting married part was so stupid.

In the end, I guess all’s well that ends well so to speak. I did like this story, especially in the first half.  I am all for a single mom going after what she wants.  I just think the story could have done without the “arranged” marriage.  I don’t think threatening someone and basically forcing them do something is romantic.  It would take a lot for me to forgive a partner for pulling that revenge crap on me.  I don’t care how good the sexy fun times are either.  This was not my relationship.  I think that it was probably something Sydney and Tristan had to go through to prove that they could get through anything.  I think the highlight of the book was their daughter.  I freaking loved Becca she was so fun and adorable

Damien fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.

Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.

And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.

I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.

He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.

Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.

Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.

One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…

(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

“Why wouldn’t you talk about your work in the restaurant?” I set my purse on the floor by my feet and shifted to face him. “I’ve never seen anyone get out of a dinner so fast.”

A small smile tugged the edge of his lips up. “Just like I said in there, some things shouldn’t be discussed in public.”

“Like politics and religion.”

“You have a very smart mouth.” He glanced down at said smart mouth. “Do you ever turn it off?”

“Never,” I reassured him. “Now, we’re no longer in public, so tell me about what you do.”

He rested an arm along the back of the seats. His fingertips landed just inches from my hair, and I gave a cursory glance at their closeness.

Shivers tickled their way down my spine as he stared at me. He was entirely still except for the way his eyes flicked left and right repeatedly. It felt an awful lot like he was taking me in, committing me to memory for some strange reason.

“A lot of people don’t like me. Pissing people off is part of business, and I’ve done that a lot, so I try to keep my work private. It’s that simple, sweetheart.”

“I get it. But now, it is private.” I wasn’t going to let this drop. I’d quit reading before I did that. “I’ve told you a lot about my bar tonight, so now tell me something.”

“You have the innate ability to make me feel like I’m back in high school and writing an essay about being reasonable.”

“If you’d done that, you might know how to be reasonable.” I paused when he laughed. It was low blow time again. “Look, Mr. Fox—”

“Damien.”

“You don’t have to tell me anything about your business and what you do, but given that you’re failing embarrassingly in your attempt to buy my business, it’s probably in your best interests to start talking.”

He leaned forward and took my hair between his finger and thumb. Slowly, he twirled the strands around his finger, each twist lightly tugging against my scalp. “You should have been a cop. You’re very persuasive.”

“In that case, you could probably learn a thing or two from me. Your own skills are lacking.”

“I don’t know.” He dropped his voice to a low murmur. “I think, if I tried hard enough, I could persuade you into a few things.”

I raised my eyebrows. We’d moved on from talking about business. Once again, the Master of Deflection was doing what he’d been doing for most of our evening together.

“I still haven’t forgiven you for your antics yesterday, so I wouldn’t even try it.” I tapped his hand so he released his hold on my hair. It tumbled away from his finger so I could smooth the strands back down and gave him a pointed look.

“Forgiven me, or yourself?” His eyes glinted knowingly. Almost self-assuredly.

Hell, there was no almost about it. He knew exactly how I’d felt when he’d left me. He knew exactly what he’d done to me, and I did, too. Denying that I was annoyed at myself because I could still remember how it’d felt when he’d taken my chin in his hand was pointless.

“Both,” I answered, sitting up a little straighter. “That doesn’t invite you to exercise poor judgment and make another attempt to mix business with pleasure?”

“Attempt? Sweetheart, if I’d attempted to do that, there would have been a lot less business and a lot more pleasure before I’d left you.”

“You think I’d give in to you so easily?”

At those words, Damien slid smoothly across the leather seats. His arm, still resting along the back of them, hung down behind me, his thumb just brushing against my back. The rest of his body was mere inches from mine, and I bit the inside of my lip as he trailed his fingertips up my bare arm. My eyes followed his feather-light touch while his stayed fixated on my face.

He coasted his fingers over my shoulder where he touched them to my jaw. Lightly, he tilted my face around and up until I had no choice but to look him in the eyes again—to look right there where I could see exactly how much he wanted me.

Dark.

Hot.

Full of temptation.

Heavy and intense, his eyes screamed of raw lust and selfish need.

“I don’t think you’d give in at all,” he whispered. “I think your body would do that for you, and you’d be helpless to it.”

“You think a lot of yourself, don’t you?” I said quietly. I touched my finger to his belt, then ran it up the length of his torso, ghosting it over the solid packs of muscle that made up his body until I flicked the starchy collar of his shirt. “You think you can do this and I’ll give in to what is essentially a biological reaction? I’m stronger than you take me for, you know.”

He curled his fingers around my chin and dipped his face to mine. “She says with a racing heart.”

I pressed one finger against his mouth and ran another along his strong thigh…right up to where his hard cock was straining against the soft material of his pants. “Don’t you hate it when your attraction to someone is so obvious?”

His jaw clenched. “If you have any sense at all inside that gorgeous head of yours, you’ll move your hand.”

A sizzling new series about three friends looking for love-and the sexy SEALs who are ready to fulfill their craziest fantasies.

He's a man on a mission.
Navy SEAL Trent Lawson isn't a man to back down from a challenge. Ever since he opened his eyes in that army hospital to learn the men from his unit were gone, Trent has been determined to live life in their honor. Even if that means facing his most terrifying mission yet . . . dating.

She's done playing games.
Lauren Hayes has standards. In fact, she's got an entire list of them. There's only ever been one man to come close to making the cut-Trent Lawson. Except her best friend's too-sexy-for-his-own-good brother is strictly off-limits.

When Trent and Lauren find themselves matched up by a dating service, the chemistry between them is nothing short of explosive. They both know getting involved is a huge mistake, but life is too short to walk away from something this good.

A Seal’s Courage is a story about a wounded ex-Navy Seal finding the courage to open his heart and love again. Trent is so scared to love again because his ex-wife couldn’t deal with the man he had become after he came home from war. Tragedy changes a person. I could only imagine what kind of mental and physical changes can occur after a tragedy in a war zone. There are the kind of scars that you can see and the kind of scars you can’t see. Sometimes the scars a person can’t see are the ones that never truly heal or leave the most lasting effects. I would think it would be hard for somebody with the kind of unseen scars war can leave to get back to the person they were before. This is why I liked Lauren because knew Trent before he left for war. Because, he is her best friend’s older brother. She also knows the man he is now. Deep down she knows he is the same man as was before. It is easy for Trent to get lost to in the memories. Sometimes he doesn’t sleep at night because the nightmares won’t leave him alone. The man he is now requires just a little extra patience.

Lauren is a woman who sometimes doesn’t sleep because the bone deep loneliness keeps her awake at night. Lauren knows what is like have tragedy strike. She lost her mother when she was young. The woman who took in and raised her was an older woman and has since passed. Lauren has friends but she wants a family of her own. Deep down she doesn’t want to settle. This is what, I liked about Lauren it was her patience to wait for the type of man she deserved. I know how easy it is settle for Mr. Right Now. I also liked that Lauren had backbone to go after what she wants. So, Lauren and Travis strike a deal, one month of seeing each and then they call it quits. I don’t have to tell you what happens from here because if you have read a romance then you already know. I will say liked their connection to each other. Since, they already had all this back history this was one time when I was glad things sped right along. Things sped right along into sexyville and it was HOT.

I found it refreshing that there was none of that we have to hide because the sibling won’t understand crap. My favorite scene was when Travis removes his shirt for the first time. He is nervous how Lauren will react when she sees his scrap metal scars and burn scars that cover his torso for the first time. I thought that scene was endearing because men especially ex-military men have these expectations to be tough all the time. It was nice to see the man in this story show vulnerability especially about his body. I think sometimes it easy to forget as women, that men can also be insecure about their bodies.

In the end, I did like A Seal’s Courage. It was a quick simple romance about two people finding the love and acceptance they deserve. Sometimes risking your heart takes more courage than facing down an army of unknown enemies.
