[ARC Review] All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan

This story wasn’t about a guy in prison that got framed. Nor, is it a story about a man trying to solve some problem with gangs when he gets out of prison. It is a story about a guy who made and has been paying for it ever since. Was this my favorite Sophie Jordan book? No. I can’t gush and love every book she writes. There wasn’t some big mystery or nonstop action. I didn’t end up hating this book it was just a sweet romance about two people learning to open up and find love. All Chain Up… Read more »

[ARC Review]Lady Bridget’s Diary by Maya Rodale

I am big fan of Maya Rodale’s historical romance novels. When I saw this book up for review, I just knew I had to read it. I was definitely not disappointed. It was just like in a good historical romance: cute cheesiness, kisses galore, and swoony lords. Plus this story is a Pride and Prejudice retelling with a handsome Darcy in a wet shirt.     Lady Bridget’s Diary was just the kind of read I searching for, meaning it is a light fluffy romance. The story is a Pride and Prejudice retelling so I don’t think I need to… Read more »

[ARC Review] The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah Maclean

I like this book a lot but I have come to expect nothing less from a Sarah Maclean book. The Rogue Not Taken had everything I look for in a historical romance: hot chemistry, witty dialogue, and of course a romance that can make me smile with joy.     The Rogue Not Taken is about a young woman named Sophie. Her and her sisters are known as the Soiled S or the Dangerous Daughters because their names are always in the scandal sheets. Their father bought their way into the aristocracy. The best thing I can compare them to,… Read more »

I don’t know why but it took me a couple of tries to get into How to Seduce a Scot. I think I had to be in the right mind set to read this book. I discovered it is the right kind of book to read while on vacation a book that would help me relax. I needed a good romance that would provide that happy feeling that only a good happily ever after can provide. How to Seduce a Scot is definitely the kind of story I was looking to escape into while I was on a mini vacation…. Read more »

[Review] The Irresistible Rogue by Valerie Bowman

I have been told over again throughout my life that I have an old soul. Growing up I was not the preteen that was too cool for school. I was the girl that rented all the classic black and white movies from the video store. One of my favorite classics was The Philadelphia Story. It was a movie about a man trying to win back the love of his ex-wife. The thing I loved most about this movie was the witty repartee between the main characters. I loved the fast talking wit that would have me laughing hysterically. When I… Read more »

[ARC Review] Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley

This year I have become a big fan of Kristen Ashley. I love the men and women that make up the world of Chaos MC. That being said, I liked Walk Through Fire but I didn’t love it. It did take me a while to get through this book because while liked Millie and High’s story I just didn’t connect with it the way I did with the story in Ride Steady. I think what kept this book from dropping below four stars is that cast of supporting characters I have come to love so much. I love the antics… Read more »

[Review] Rome by Jay Crownover

It is official I am addicted to the stories of the men and women the Marked Men series. It was this book that sealed the deal. I liked Rule and Jet but, Oh Man, I really liked Rome. Rome is a moody ex-soldier trying to find a place for himself in civilian life. Cora is colorful, a loud mouth, and just wants to find her happily ever after. I liked this book so much because while it was moody and both characters could be jerks. I liked that were “perfectly imperfect” together.   Rome is Rule’s brother from book one… Read more »

[ARC Review] All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue by Sophie Jordan

I read the first book in this series last year and I adored it. I don’t know what happened because I was sure I would love watching the Aurelia and Max fall in love because I loved their bickering in A Good Debutante’s Guide to Ruin. If love is a battlefield then All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue felt like it was ripe with land mines. One minute the couple is fighting, then next they are kissing, then they are fighting again, then next they not speaking to each other, then they are kissing again and on and on… Read more »

I am big fan of Katie MacAlister’s world of dragons since I read You Slay Me. I knew I would like the world of Dragon Fall but I think the ending fell a little flat.  I am giving Dragon Fall three stars because I liked it well enough. Dragon Fall is the love story for Drake’s brother, the love interest in You Slay Me, Kostya. Kostya has was held hostage for many years, then fell in lust with a naiad, and she left him for another male. Now a curse has fallen over the dragon clans. Kostya wakes up naked in with… Read more »

First let me say that I got this book out of my very first subscription box from The Bookworm Box. The Bookworm Box is a book subscription box that you order and receive once a month. The Bookworm Box was started by Colleen Hoover and other awesome people. The most awesome thing about The Bookworm Box is that all the proceeds after overhead costs go the charity of the month. When I heard about this book box I knew I had to sign up. The box is usually made up of adult contemporary romance novels. If that is not your… Read more »
