This book is actually a novella and so my review is going to short just like this cute short story. I really liked this story it was adorable, sweet and sexy. I am giving it four stars because it left me in a nice happy place.     I have been a reading rut for a week now. I think this story was just I needed to pull me out of it. It was a short story so I was able to finish it in one night. It was also, an entertaining romance. I am sucker for books about athletes… Read more »

[ARC Review] Gone Too Far by Natalie D. Richards

I liked this book because it was an okay read. It was an easy read even though I didn’t really care who the mysterious vigilante was. It was just one those books that quick and I liked but I didn’t think it was the best thing since sliced bread. It was a bit predictable at times and I think I was expecting more of a thriller when I went into this book. The book is about Piper who finds a notebook full of scandals about her fellow students. Then one day she over hears some popular jock guys hassling… Read more »

When I first started reading this book it didn’t take long to figure out Finch’s mental health issues reminded me of someone I know. I didn’t think I would like this book because I usually don’t like reading books with characters that hit a little too to home to be comfortable. This is not something I always discuss with strangers but I have a parent that was eventually diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Growing up we didn’t know what it was so the extreme mood swings were normal just like they are for Finch’s family. It is not the family’s fault… Read more »

I grabbed this one from Netgalley because I wanted something different, and fluffy. Something akin to potato chips or popcorn. I didn’t want to have to commit to anything too much. I just wanted it to be, and to fluff about being ridiculous. This book hit the mark in some aspects of that, and then fell flat in others. I was looking for vampire cowboys, and I got vampire cowboys, but the execution of said vampire cowboys was lacking. Honestly, the first chunk of the book was a lot of fun. We met the main characters, and learned plenty about… Read more »

[ARC Review] This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

I LOVED the first book in this series, These Broken Stars. It was full of heart stopping action and swoon worthy romance. While the second book, This Shattered World, was full of action. For me, the romance part fell a little flat. I just didn’t connect with Jubilee and Flynn. I felt that it was realistic to have the two characters that are caught up in a revolution and conspiracies not to be declaring undying love after only a week. I also didn’t really care if they hooked up or not. I felt the story moved a little slower and… Read more »

This book is a standalone story but it is part of series about three roommates. While I liked I Want it That Way, I liked this book better because there was just something about the characters that I could really relate to. The main character Lauren has major social anxiety. It has become such an issue that she has to quit school and go back home before her anxiety turns into a major drinking problem. I can relate so well to social anxiety because I have some of the same issues. While mine probably aren’t as debilitating as Lauren’s it… Read more »

I know I have said this before but I have become a big fan of the Hard Ink series. I like that each book focuses on one guy in the team but is just a piece in the overall story line of the series. In Hard to Come By the focus is Marz. I have liked Marz since the first book because he is easy going guy that will lay down his life to protect the ones he loves. I also like Marz because I don’t know while he can get emotional there is nothing emo about him. Plus, I… Read more »

I liked this short story in the Hard Ink Series. It was sweet and it was it also like a nice reprieve in the overall story line. The series is about five men who are ex-military Special Forces. In the first book the daughter of commander who betrayed them and cost them their careers shows up asking for help. The five guys plus some extra friends band back together to find help the daughter while clearing their name. The story line is kind of like A-Team meets a romance novel. This short is all about Easy. He starts having feelings… Read more »

[Manga Monday] Skip Beat

Hello manga lovers! This week on Manga Monday, we’re looking at Skip Beat! by Yoshiki Nakamura. Skip Beat! was first published in Hakusensha’s shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume in February 2002. Viz Media bought the rights and features it in Shojo Beat. As of September 2014, 35 volumes and one fanbook have been released in Japan, with 32 of those volumes out in the U.S. Let’s look at the cover. The image depicts a smiling girl with short, strawberry blond hair. She wears a denim shirt-dress, and looks very indicative to shojo manga. This is Kyoko Mogami, our protagonist. Kyoko grows up abandoned… Read more »

I saw this book as recommended reading on Amazon a few month ago. I thought this book looked interesting but was something I might listen to or read when I had nothing better to do. I was kind of surprised in a good way when I saw the audiobook available on Audible. I have to tell you I went into this book interested but I did have low expectations. I have to say in the end I am glad I gave The Book of Ivy a shot because I ended up really liking it. I liked The Book of Ivy… Read more »
