[Audiobook Review] The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine

I tried to read this book several times and just never could get into it. I mean I really tried. I feel like I have been reading this book for forever. I felt like if I could just get into then I wouldn’t have to DNF it so I put it on the back burner for a while. So, I decided to go ahead and use an audible credit and give The Shadow Queen another chance. I can say I am proud of myself for finishing The Shadow Queen this time. This audiobook felt like it took forever to get… Read more »

I am big fan of Katie MacAlister’s world of dragons since I read You Slay Me. I knew I would like the world of Dragon Fall but I think the ending fell a little flat.  I am giving Dragon Fall three stars because I liked it well enough. Dragon Fall is the love story for Drake’s brother, the love interest in You Slay Me, Kostya. Kostya has was held hostage for many years, then fell in lust with a naiad, and she left him for another male. Now a curse has fallen over the dragon clans. Kostya wakes up naked in with… Read more »

Oh hey, I’m back with another DNF. This time it was a fantasy novel with an interesting premise that never really got off the ground, despite having lots of flying creatures involved. Once again, I stole this questionnaire from the lovely Nikki. Did you really give Of Bone and Thunder  a chance? I did! I got to 29%. I kept waiting for something to happen and although there were a few things here and there that made the plot seem like it might go somewhere, it continued to plod on for me. Have you enjoyed other books of the same genre?… Read more »

I did a re-read of Scorched just to familiarize myself with this world again right before diving into Shattered. I am not going to lie, I am sucker for anything with dragons in it. I liked Shattered for the most part. It picks up a couple days after where Scorched left off. Trinity, her two bodyguards from the future, and her grandpa are still on the run and holed up in an abandoned farm house. With the addition of a new character called Scarlett whom just happens to run into Emmy, the last dragon on earth, and Scarlett ends up… Read more »

Hey, its my birthday today! What better day to review this book? I fell whole-heartedly in love with Robin Hobb’s books when I was in high school. I was deeply enamored with her Farseer, Liveship Traders, and Tawny Man trilogies, and suffered both all the bliss and all the heartache that came with being such a fan (you know what I’m talking about). Even now, Robin Hobb remains unquestionably one of my top 3 favourite authors of all time, and hedges closely with my emphatic love of George R R Martin. I just freaking love her more than words can say. So naturally, when the… Read more »
