[Audiobook Review] The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine

I tried to read this book several times and just never could get into it. I mean I really tried. I feel like I have been reading this book for forever. I felt like if I could just get into then I wouldn’t have to DNF it so I put it on the back burner for a while. So, I decided to go ahead and use an audible credit and give The Shadow Queen another chance. I can say I am proud of myself for finishing The Shadow Queen this time. This audiobook felt like it took forever to get… Read more »

The first thing I said when I finished this audiobook was, “thank goodness I made it to the end”. So, I first tried to pick up The Marked Girl when I received a copy from the publisher about a month ago.  Sadly, I just couldn’t get into this book so I put it to the side.  Then when I saw the audiobook was on Audible, I was like perfect now I can have someone read it to me. I was hoping maybe that would make my reading experience go faster. Again sadly that wasn’t the case. Amanda Dolan the narrator… Read more »

This book took me a while to get through, not because it was bad, but it started off very slow for me and life kept taking me away from it. However, once I got past the first few chapters the adventure started to pick up. How long did it take to read I can hear you asking, sadly far too long as this was handed to me by the publisher at BEA some time ago. The main characters are the rouge Rodrick and his sword, Hrym. How can a sword be a character, well when it talks, schemes with his… Read more »

I don’t know why this book took me so long to read.  I think it was because I was going through a bit of slump last month.   When I saw My Lady Jane was out on audiobook I decided to use my audible credit and give it a go.  I can honestly the audiobook did not disappoint.  I ended absolutely loving this book.  I listened to My Lady Jane in the car and in my office at work.  I know there were times people were staring at me because I could not stop laughing.  This book was so funny there… Read more »

I think this book is more of a 3.5 star kind of read but I have rounded up because I did like the ending so much. I listened to this audiobook and maybe things got lost in translation but it was hard for me get into it at first. I really had to power through. Let me say not because of the narrator, Emily Rankin does decent job making the story come alive. Once, I got to the middle of the book the rest of the story was addicting. I flew right through it. Ruined isn’t anything new in YA… Read more »

I got an E-ARC of Into the Dim but there are just not enough hours in the day; so I decided to buy the audiobook and listen to this book while I was at work. I am glad I did because I really really enjoyed Into the Dim. It was full action, romance, and of course, time travel. I can say I liked this book even more because it was narrated by one of my favorite audiobook narrators: Amanda Ronconi. For those who don’t know who Amanda Ronconi is she narrates adult romance author Molly Harper’s novels. I just love… Read more »

I was so excited to read this book. I loved the Darkest Mind trilogy. Plus this book had time travel, pirates and cute boys. Sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. I had such a hard time getting into this book that I ended up buying the audiobook. The story was so long that I know there times I zoned out. I was just expecting more excitement and swashbuckling times but instead was more like action, drone on and on, and then maybe a little more action again. I have to give Passenger three stars because it ended up… Read more »

I got an ARC of this book and I was so excited to start reading it. The Scorpion Rules sounded like a book right up my alley. But, I just could not get into the story. So, I thought I would wait and listen to book because sometimes I like the story if I can hear the pronunciations and visual the story through the voice of a narrator. My first thought after I listened to the last word was, thank goodness I finally finished this book. It felt like it took me forever. I kept waiting for this book to… Read more »
