Can, I just after finishing this book I was like, WOW!  I think I liked White Hot even better than Burn For Me and that is saying something since I loved Burn For Me.  This series has it all: hot sexy fun times, action galore, and an intense mystery that just keeps bigger and bigger. I love a book that can make feel so many feels.  White Hot definitely kept me on the edge my seat.  One minute I was swooning and the next I was biting my nails.  White Hot was fabulous I could not put it down and… Read more »

[Review] Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

There are two things that I will always watch or read about: Victorian London and Jack the Ripper. When I saw the synopsis for Stalking the Jack Ripper I was like sign me up because I am definitely reading that book! I was sold on this book by the synopsis alone, I mean who doesn’t want to read about a young woman of society bucking tradition to become a female forensic scientist. Her first case study just happens to be the Jack the Ripper. I thought I couldn’t want to read this anymore than I already did then they released… Read more »

[Review] Unknown by Wendy Higgins

There is something truly terrifying about an apocalypse setting that scares and fascinates me at the same time.  I think Wendy Higgins did a good job of building a truly scary world in Unknown.  I finished this book in two days.  I only put it down to sleep.  Even when I put the book down I still kept think about how frightening this book actually was.     Unknown starts out like any other contemporary love story.  A girl grows up with her brother and his best friend.  Then the brother’s best friend becomes her friend as well.  Of course,… Read more »

I liked Nightshades. It was a very quick read. For this review, I am going to do something different. I think for such a fast short read my review is going to be short and sweet. I am going to list the things liked and the things I didn’t like about Nightshades.   Things I liked about Nightshades: It was short and therefore a very quick read. I liked the different take on vampires. These are not shiny misunderstood beings. The vampires are just like humans in a way. Some vampires are evil and some just want to do the… Read more »

[ARC Review] Shadow Rider by Christine Feehan

This book took me a while to finish. I have to say Stefano Ferraro gets it right about one thing; he is a hard man to love. In the end, I couldn’t help but like him and even sigh with happiness for Francesca and Stefano. Stefano is very alpha and kind of a throwback to the old alpha male ways.  No, Stefano isn’t a gangster but he is a throwback to Godfather ways when it comes to women.  He has this very dominating presence, demands nothing less than obedience, and of course, has no patience for people who question him. … Read more »

[Audiobook Review] Freaky Days by Amanda M. Lee

I admit I picked this book up on a whim. It was on sale on Audible and I have been trying to give more indie publications a shot, so I thought what the heck. The cover was definitely a bit freaky and I wasn’t sure what to expect so back, to my what the heck attitude. I began listening to Freaky Days. Imagine my surprise when I actually really liked this book.   I even quote parts of it to my friends and coworkers now. Freaky Days is a murder mystery set in a traveling circus. But, Mystic Caravan isn’t just… Read more »

I admit the first time I read The Mediator series I was not officially a teen but I was close enough to it. I freaking loved this series. I love Suze and Jesse. I love the Suze and her wacky ghost adventures. I can remember when the sixth book came out, my friend and I went to the book store that day. Then I proceeded to re-read the entire series because I wanted it all fresh when I got to what I thought would be the last book in one weekend. When I saw there would basically be a reunion… Read more »

[Review] The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman

I grew up on Regency era romance novels and YA supernatural thrillers. When I saw the description for The Dark Days Club I was like, “Yes, Please!” The Dark Days Club combines two of my favorite things a supernatural thriller set in Regency England.     The Dark Days is about a young woman who has just come out in high society and is in her first season. Lady Helen thinks her first season will be just like all the other young women who have come before her. Meaning it will be filled with balls, promenades in Hyde Park, and,… Read more »

After I have had more time to think about how I feel after reading this book, I find myself giving it more of a 3 star rating than a 4 star. I felt that the story started out strong. It is about a guy named Thomas who can’t remember a thing about his mother’s murder. He meets up with Charlotte the only person in town to give him the time of day and they begin looking into the death of his murder. I like the idea of a who done it murder mystery with some sexy romance thrown in. I… Read more »

[Review] Need by Joelle Charbonneau

When I first started reading this book I had trouble getting into it. I put it to the side and hoped that the aid of audiobook narration could help bring the book to life for me. Unfortunately, even two amazing narrators couldn’t make this story a stellar experience. In the end, I didn’t really like Need but I didn’t totally hate it either. Need was just one those stories with an intriguing and fast paced plot to me interested but falls flat in the end. I am giving Need three stars because it wasn’t bad just a mediocre and shrug… Read more »
