Last year I became a big fan of Sarah J Maas and this book just reiterates all the reasons why. I loved loved loved A Court of Thorns and Roses. I read this book in one day it was just that good. I have feeling this review is going to be short and sweet or will turn into nothing but the ramblings of a fangirl. A Court of Thorns and Roses is about a girl that kills a wolf but unwittingly that wolf is a Faerie and she must pay the price of killing a Faerie. That is how Feyre… Read more »

I started reading this book a while back but for some reason I just could not get into it. I picked up the audiobook and I found that in the end I am now kind of hooked on this series now. The Replaced takes up where The Taking left off with Kyra’s dad missing and her boyfriend having been taking by the aliens. Now Kyra is on the run with Simon and a group of other taken they have met along the way. Most of the first book is Kyra and her pals running from evil government agents that want… Read more »

Oh, my goodness. I’m so glad that I got this from First Reads. I rolled around on the floor for awhile and then found that their download site was all broken. But everything worked out in the end, because I still got a hold of this beauty and let me tell you, it was such a good read. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it certainly lives up to the hype. There is so much happening in this book. There are elements of magic, desertion, usurping, spying, cults, mythical creatures and pretty much anything else you can think… Read more »

I have never read a book by Brighton Walsh and I will definitely be picking up more because I am in so much like with this book. If you are reader that is not a fan of any type of Beauty and the Beast themed or similar stories then walk away because this book is not for you. If you are like me and you like a story about a girl and guy thrown together in the most horrible of circumstances but still find a way to set themselves free and fall in love, then this book is for you…. [Audiobook Review] It Takes a Witch by Heather Blake

I always think cozy mysteries are like Scooby or Nancy Drew mysteries for adults. It is a light who done it full of mystery and odd ball characters. It Takes a Witch is no exception to this rule. On top of Darcy being a Wishcrafter she now has to help her aunt’s boyfriend and clear his name of murder. Darcy sets out to do some sleuthing of her own when the police can come up with no more suspects.  While I thought the mystery itself was easy to solve as well some of the “shocking revelations” it was the setting… Read more »

[ARC Review] Sisters of Blood and Spirit by Kady Cross

I liked this book just okay. It was an entertaining read full of action and spooky times. It was kind of slow in parts and easy to put down. It was one those read’s that I am glad I read but it didn’t keep me riveting to my chair wondering what would happen next. Just as they compare themselves to the Scooby Gang, the story was pretty much like an episode of Scooby Doo, you can watch knowing the good guys will win in the end so you feel pretty safe letting Scooby Do run in the background while you… Read more »

[ARC Review] Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop

I like this series and the latest installment Vision in Silver was no exception. Vision in Silver is the third book in The Others series by Anne Bishop. I tried to keep thoughts general but there might be spoilers for the first two books in the series. Vison in Silver picks up after the events in Murder of Crows. Terra Indigene are on edge because a group called Humans First came after the group at the compound. They also think this group is tied to the humans that have been breeding and holding blood prophets hostage, Meg’s people. Simon, a… Read more »

I started listening to this audiobook one day at work. I became so engrossed in the story that I literally could not put this book down. I came home and kept right on listening to this book instead of turning on the TV. For me, this book was so entrancing that I could not stop until I had listened to the very last sentence. Under Different Stars opens with Kricket working and living under the radar because she ran away from foster care. Then one day her life changes forever when men from another world start coming after her. They… Read more »

Not gonna lie, when I found this in my mailbox I cocked my head and squealed about the pretties. Then I questioned why it was in my mailbox. Did I sleepily enter a giveaway? Don’t they usually email you first? It didn’t even show up on the UPS tracking because it was one that got shuttled over to USPS before delivery. So, honestly it was a wonderful surprise. I did question the cover, because is that a sword? Is it supposed to be her dagger? It’s too short for a sword and much too long for a dagger. I know… Read more »

[ARC Review] Diary of an Accidental Wallflower by Jennifer McQuiston

I am going to make this review short and sweet. Why? Diary of an Accidental Wallflower is a cute read and I am not sure there is much more I could say without adding endless nonsense. This story starts off cute because Claire is quite taken with Mr. Alban, a future duke. One day when she is in the park she sees him out and about but god forbid Mr. Alban sees Claire in an old day dress. She lunges into some bushes to hide and hurts her ankle. That is how Dr. Daniel Merial begins taking care of Claire’s… Read more »
